Here is a a view on Ortygia island in the city of Syracuse, Sicily. Via Labrinto (Italian for Labrynith Way) was a beautiful winding street that rewarded me with surprising architecture.
Syracuse is a pleasant place, very cleaned up compared to most of Italy. It is also the home to Caravaggio’s Saint Lucy painting which is worth a trip by itself. Syracuse was once described by Cicero as “the greatest Greek city and the most beautiful of them all.”
