I grew up in Chicago where I developed an early interest in visual art. As I explored my options it became clear to me that I was focused on a classical approach to drawing and painting.

I attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Chicago’s Palette and Chisel Art Club, and The Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut, studying figure drawing and painting, as well as anatomy and sculpture.

After returning to Chicago, I focused on oil painting and also began to do mural painting and decorative work for homes and businesses. As this facet of my work progressed I began to work on historical restorations of large-scale decorations and murals in major secular and religious buildings, working on over twenty different projects, including three state capitals and three cathedrals.

Recent projects I have completed  include a mural in Chicago about public transportation for the West-town Chicago neighborhood (2009). In 2008 I completed work on the restoration of the Tiffany Dome at the Chicago Cultural Center. In the summer of 2008 I worked on restoring a mural cycle in the Federal Appellate Court in Denver, CO. and continued (2008 – 2009) working on the ceiling mural restorations in the old War Department Offices in Washington, D.C.

In the last several years I executed a mural in the dome of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Harrisburg, Pa.as well as several large Richard Haas outdoor murals: two in Ft. Worth, Texas and one in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

.From 2003 to 2005 I resided in Amsterdam in the Netherlands studying Dutch painting and culture. In 2007 I was recognized as a dual American/Italian citizen.

Currently I am living and working in Chicago where I do  oil paintings and  I pursue my lifelong love of plein-aire painting as well as working on mural pieces.  I exhibit regularly and  I am actively seeking commissions, public art projects, and representation. I also have a blog where you can get more detail and images about my projects.
